Aweber Suspending Accounts! Are You Next?
Posted on 18. Jul, 2010 by admin in Aweber
Hello Everyone
So Aweber is at it again.
Suspending several well known internet marketers accounts.
Don’t be Awebers next victim.
Im moving on and so should you.
The latest was Guido Nussbaum. Creator of Giveaway Manager Script and
owner of Traffic Witch manual traffic exchange.
His account was suspended without warning and guess
what that means. No email marketing until the issue is
resolved and I don’t know about you but I need to use
the autoresponder that I PAY for monthly so…
That’s why I am transitioning away from Aweber.I need
to be in control of my destiny not the PAID service
provider that responds on a whim and without warning.
Can you imagine being in Guido’s boat? Having a list of
tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of subs
and now you can’t contact them at all and without any
notice at all.
He’s DONE with Aweber too and is currently moving his list.
If you are like I am then you need to email your list that
you have spent months or years and countless hours building
whenever you want too.
The responder service that I use is cheaper than Aweber
and they don’t charge you more as your list grows. This
service offers:
=> UNLIMITED Campaigns (lists)
=> UNLIMITED messages
=> Unlimited subscribers
=> Schedule UNLIMITED broadcasts
=> Track click through and open rates
=> Best of all you get the first 30 days FR-EE!
and much, much more.
Here’s a link to the full list of features:

I don’t mean to alarm you but there’s a lot of bad karma
swirling around Aweber at this point in time and if your
business depends on having complete control of your email
list then why not take a 30 day fr-ee trial and see if
you can live without Aweber.
Of course if you don’t yet have an autoresponder then you
should definitely start out with a very nice one, right?
Here’s the link again so go check it out and avoid any of
the pointless “controlling” set backs that are happening
without warning to good people.

Enjoy and have a great day.
Keep Smiling, ![]()

Yes, your right you have to be really careful when using aweber. Thank you for the heads up. This can be very frustrating for those that have become victim to this sort of thing! The money is in the list but if you wake up one day and have no list then what do you do.. VERY FRUSTRATING.
If your using aweber as a way to build and maintain a list i would suggest researching other services that are simular and compare them.

Hey Craig interesting scoop got me thinking about why I held back on not utilising Aweber site to sell on the backend of affiliate products for the 30 day freebie, I guess they are cottoning on and shutting down accounts, obviously these types of methods were never building any substantial lists and going against the grain of using an auto-responder to even build a list but did serve a purpose for offering freebies alongside the promotion of affiliate optin links. Still I been using a free autoresponder and people are opting of my lists thick and fast. I think there is a lot to be said once you know who’s on your list of programming monthly or even three monthly e-mails. Knowing through surveys like Monkey survey questions or just following along on social networks to understand the person on the list. I not sure why your buddy got his list suspended but maybe he should have backed up his list with a Excel document or something like this, I’m sure that’s one of those protocols that help, I believe there is a beta version of Microsoft 2010 perhaps you have already checked it out both Excel and Powerpoint are supposed to be major improvements. Anyroad nice chatting with you on the webinar this morning. to success and progression.
Best
Robert Bridge.

Hey Robert. Thanks for the reply.
I think the biggest major problem is that Aweber is just getting way to big to handle customer complaints. I think this is a big reason why they are just deleting accounts and not finding out from their customer whats going on.
You know it is getting bad when alot of big marketers that have been with Aweber for years and are getting there accounts deleted. You would think they would try to keep there long time customers.
Thanks for the reply

This is a shame that this is happening – I was a member there once and never really did understand it. I’m went with another autoresponder and love it – a must tool

Nancy, this was very disappointing. I really loved aweber but now my mind has changed. Unfortunately they are just getting to big of a company to handle good customer support.

While I can’t talk about specific accounts due to our privacy policy, I can offer some general feedback here.
It’s exceedingly rare that any client account is terminated without notice unless they are doing something extremely bad that no sensible permission based marketer would do.
With that said, if we see someone doing something that’s inappropriate, they are notified, and they don’t make changes then we don’t have a whole lot of choice but to cancel an account.
Follow email marketing best practices and you’ll never have
a problem at AWeber.

Hello Tom
Thanks for stopping in and giving feedback.
I have had an account deleted about a year ago without notice.
The only reason i was given was for spam reasons.
Now that being the case, i couldn’t really understand the reason since all my subscribers at the time were double optin.
I understand that you have rules and regulations to keeping aweber clear and clean but maybe there can be something done about people that just click the spam button because they might be too lazy to unsubscribe.
My question is this?
What’s the point in having a double optin if your still getting spam complaints.
I have seen other markets getting handed the same way and belong to some of their lists.
The give out good information so i dont see why when someone giving value in their emails are still getting so many spam complaints.
Seems to me this has been a recent epidemic with Aweber in the last year or so.
Sorry for the rant but i have always loved the Aweber service and still am a paid member but i am also a member of traffic wave now just in case my account does get deactivated again in Aweber.
Its a bummer that i have to have 2 accounts due to worries of my account being deleted without notice.
Thanks
Craig

It’s great that you got the response. Let’s hope that there are positive steps taken rather than empty words from another bigwig

Hi Craig, I just recently started building a list and heard there was the possibility you may lose it. A chance I wasn’t willing to take, to much work involved for that !
Thanks James

Hey James.
I think i will be ok. I wanted to transfer all my leads but thats more of a headache and there is no promise i will be able to get all my leads back.

Wow! Great comments here! Maybe Aweber can find some way of realizing that some people do hit spam because they are too lazy to just unscubscribe – possibly speaking with the member whose account is in question, would be a thought. Get both sides of the story

I too have switched from Aweber to Traffic Wave. There are only 2 minor gripes I have so far.
1) There is no blog sync to broadcast automatically when you post, so you have to manually alert your blog subscribers when there is a new post.
2) You are only allowed to mail each list once every 8 hours. This can be an issue if you post to your blog in the morning, and then a great blog product launches that you want to share with your list.
Overall, the customer support is amazingly helpful and quick to respond. I love the flat monthly fee no matter how many lists you have, how big those lists get, or how many times you mail your lists.
I believe TW is responsive to customer requests, and think they will expand their services based on user need and experience.

I had no idea Traffic Wave only lets you mail out once an hour. I hope that changes soon.
Other than that i am liking Traffic Wave so far. Thanks for the feedback

Glad to share the info
It’s actually once every 8 hours, but I believe I saw in Net Marketing Forum from Brian Rooney that they are working on modifying that. Not sure if they’ll lift the limits completely, or if they’ll reduce it.
Thanks for the comments on my blog. Much appreciated

As I said when I saw Guido’s item, these people are pathetic – “we’re big and tough, we won’t bother letting you solve the problem, we’ll just shut you down”. Google-style arrogance – and as with Google, we should be voting with our feet and taking our business elsewhere.
Funny to see this from the company responsible for mountains of SPAM all over the net because they let themselves get hacked and their customers’ lists get downloaded.
These days I won’t sign up to an Aweber-hosted list without creating a new throwaway email address for it.
And I’ll certainly never use their service.

Thanks Matt for the reply.
I do remember that. Matter of speaking im still getting all these pharmacy spam emails because of that incedent.
Thanks
