The Revolt of Mamie Stover

Poster for classic film

A single-print, one-sheet poster for Raoul Walsh’s silly, but unfairly maligned 1956 feature, The Revolt of Mamie Stover. With star Jane Russell front and centre, the poster mixes visual elements of the film’s paperback source material with 20th Century Fox’s original tagline, asking Why Did Mamie Stover Have to Leave San Francisco? — a question admittedly never really answered in the film.

A curious postscript: The poster was originally created as a gift for my spouse in 2011, but a few years later I discovered the artwork is being used for IMDB's listing for the film (rather than some of the original Fox materials)
