droidcon London
Branding and marketing for tech conference
Role: Brand Manager, Graphic Designer, Illustrator
droidcon London is Europe’s largest Android technology conference.
Each year the conference welcomes 2,000 attendees for 2 days of talks, workshops, and networking.
In 2018 and 2019, I managed and designed the branding and marketing collateral of the conference.
My first droidcon London was the tenth iteration of the event — a milestone celebrated throughout our branding and marketing campaign. Every visual for the event, from the onsite signage to a massive 4-meter balloon was themed around the idea of “droidcon London’s 10th Birthday Bash” and featured Google’s iconic Android character in assorted party gear (hats, bow tie, sunglasses).
For 2019, we chose to celebrate another tech milestone — the 50th anniversary of the moon landing (which, if I’m being honest, was just a great excuse to put the android into various lunar situations).
Once again, everything from the lowliest drink ticket to to the venue’s exterior windows featured Android variations on NASA’s Apollo moon landing missions including a droid-lander, a lunar rover, and my personal favourite, a droid golfing on the moon. All of these illustrations were produced by me (with Irina Blok’s iconic Android logo as a base).
